Having large and prominent runes and a cooldown timer on them that you can view without really looking away from the fight at hand, can mean the difference between life and death in an intense battle. If you wish, you can even fade the runes and the blade in and out of combat. You can change the orientation of the blade, change the skin, and scale it to a large size so that you can keep track of what runes are on cooldown from the corner of your eye.
